Here at Psystar, we were as excited as everyone to see the release of OS X Snow Leopard on Friday. Our development team had been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the official release the next iteration of OS X.

That said, we urge all of our previous customers against attempting to install the newest release of OS X until our techs have had a chance to ensure that updating your Psystar computer to Snow Leopard can be done safely. Again, we ask you not attempt to install the new OS X as it may cause harm to your computer, resulting in a possible re-installation of Leopard OS 10.5 and a loss of data. As with all previous software updates to the OS, Psystar meticulously tests and retests all software updates to confirm their compatibility with older Psystar machines. We will be releasing information on upgrading your Psystar computer to OS X Snow Leopard soon. The ability to do so may depend on when your system was purchased, and upgrade costs may vary.
It is great to see that Psystar is gearing up to install Snow Leopard and also to see that upgrading already purchased machines is going to be supported as well. Keep up the good work! I’m a Psystar fan forever.
Seems odd that they are saying they support Snow leopard on new machines, but cannot yet support it on old machines (even though the hardware is identical).
As a satisfied Psystar customer it is my hope to be able to install Snow Leopard from scratch. My question is will this require a new restore CD from Psystar in order to be able to install a fresh load of Snow Leopard? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I assume it would be because they tweaked there software to make full usage of snow leopard, So I assume you would need an updated restore disc for snow leopard, or some special patch.
You guys do great work and as soon as you confirm it’s okay to upgrade to SL I’m on it. Keep it up and I’m loving your customer service.
